These are quite belated pictures from a trip to Seoul the weekend before one of my closest friends from Daegu this year, left. To say about Patricia that she was a good friend really falls short in some respects. There are few people you meet who have such warmth as her. So many things about her have been inspiration to me. To name a few: her ridiculously serene nature, her strength, her optimism, her kind nature and curiosity. I’m sure I could go on but my point is Korea has taught me a lot but it has definitely taught me if anything how to make true friends and I am grateful that I found a friend in her this year. Some memorable moments for me:
1. Patricia’s famous forty-five degree angle lean whilst walking around to inspect others food around us before deciding on her meal.
2. My daily dose of Spanish terms of endearment via KakaoTalk.
3. Meeting someone equally as late as me!
4. Allowing me to feel how I want to instead of trying to calm me down or fixing-it.
5. A touch of reassurance when I started to get worked up.
Geez this list is making me sound like I was angry all the time better move on!
Anyway one last one.
6. Giving me new eyes to Korea by being an amazing “cruise director” without her including me all the time I feel I would have missed alot.
Thanks girl, sorry my appreciation is a bit late! Miss you!
So to explain this photo you have to understand the absolute obsession and I mean OBSESSION there is about couples over here in Korea. Look if you are in couple that’s fine, good for you but Dory and I have had to endure a year’s worth of couple-related comments and so we decided to take this photo. Behind us stands the “love-locks” and as it sounds it is a place for couple’s to “lock their love away” <- now you understand why we are making the face right? Every Monday morning at work Dory would walk in excited to talk about her travels around Korea over the weekend only to get the response of ”Oh you went there? But that’s a couple’s place”. Literally every place that she went over the past year. So basically you are saying the entire country is a place for couples, you can’t do that, you can’t claim an entire country for couples, this is not France my friend. Okay rant finished now.
This photo is an excellent example of why Patricia is so awesome, she was suppose to be in Japan instead of here in this picture but due to unfortunately circumstances it did not work out that. Of course she was happy to see our friend Alex’s play but it was still disappointing to not be seeing a new country. Anyway if it were me I’d be in a pretty bad mood and not hide it very easily but she did. She handled it with grace and that’s why I love her.

Great pictures – nice to see a set with a lot of you in them for a change.
That one with you in front of the green door with the camera gave me a double-take – you look exactly like your mom.
Yea I was unsure if I wanted to put pictures of myself out on the Internet but oh well huh? Yea that picture was funny because that day my friend was so really not in the mood for being a tourist haha.
